Gas Certificate of Compliance (COC)
Under the Pressure Equipment Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, any new or altered LPG gas installation in South Africa must have a valid Certificate of Compliance. Without one, your insurer can refuse to pay out on a claim linked to the gas installation, and you're required to hand a valid CoC to a buyer when selling a property with gas fitted. We inspect the installation against SANS 10087-1 and issue the certificate once it passes.

- Full installation inspectionPipework, joints, regulators, ventilation and appliance connections are checked against the SANS 10087-1 standard.
- Leak & pressure testingThe system is pressure-tested and checked for leaks as part of the inspection.
- Remedial work (if needed)If anything doesn't pass, we'll quote the required correction before a certificate can be issued.
- Certificate issuedOnce the installation is confirmed safe and compliant, we issue your Gas Certificate of Compliance.

Do I need a new CoC every time I sell my house?
If the property has a gas installation, you're required to provide the buyer with a valid Certificate of Compliance as part of the sale. If you don't have one, or it covers an installation that's since been altered, we can inspect and issue a current certificate.
Who is allowed to issue a Gas CoC?
Only a registered gas installer may inspect an installation and issue a valid Certificate of Compliance — it isn't something a homeowner or unregistered contractor can self-certify.
